This Privacy Policy describes how Mustang Mafia ("we," "us," or "the Club") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Mustang Mafia mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account & Profile

• Required: name, email address, and a password (stored only as a salted bcrypt hash — we never see your plaintext password).
• Chapter: the city/chapter you belong to (New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Oklahoma City, or Thomasville).
• Optional profile details: profile photo, bio, phone number, and car information (year, model, trim, color, modifications).
• Referral code: if another member invited you.

1.2 Content You Create

• Chat messages (text, photo, and audio) in channel and direct-message conversations.
• Photos uploaded to chapter galleries.
• Event RSVPs, check-ins, and event details you create as a city lead or admin.
• Announcements you post (admins / city leads only).
• Membership request notes and answers.

1.3 Location Data

• Cruise Mode: when you opt in to an active cruise, the App shares your device's live location with other participants in that cruise for the duration of the drive. You can stop sharing at any time.
• Event pins: addresses entered for events are geocoded via Apple MapKit so they show up on the map. This is the event address only, not your location.
• We do not collect background location when you are not in an active cruise.

1.4 Device & Technical Data

• Push-notification tokens issued by Apple Push Notification service (APNs) so we can notify you about chat messages, events, and requests.
• Basic log information (IP address, timestamps, error traces) for debugging and abuse prevention. Logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to build advertising profiles.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Operate the App's core features (authentication, chat, events, RSVPs, galleries, directory, announcements, cruise mode, calls).
• Send transactional push notifications (new messages, event invites, RSVPs, membership-request updates).
• Moderate conduct and enforce the Terms of Service.
• Improve the App's stability and performance.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising. We do not use your private messages to train AI models.

3. Who Can See What

• Your profile (name, photo, chapter, car details, bio) is visible to other approved Mustang Mafia members in the member directory.
• Channel messages are visible to other members of that channel. Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient.
• Gallery photos are visible to other members. Do not upload photos that contain people who have not consented.
• Cruise Mode location is visible only to other members actively participating in the same cruise, and only while the cruise is active.
• Admins and city leads can see additional information needed to moderate the Club (e.g., membership request details, reported content).

4. Third-Party Services

The App relies on a small number of third-party services to function:

• Apple — App Store distribution, Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for notifications, and Apple MapKit for address geocoding and the map.
• LiveKit — real-time voice and video infrastructure for in-app calls. Call audio/video streams are relayed through LiveKit servers but are not recorded by us.
• Our servers — application data (accounts, messages, photos, events) is stored on servers we operate.

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking SDKs in the App.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• We retain your account and content as long as your account is active.
• You can delete your account from within the App. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal information. Messages you sent may remain visible to other participants in a conversation as part of their message history (much like text messages on a phone).

6. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). That said, no online service is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep your device locked.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
